Marilyn’s journey into dog training began in 2006 with her education from Sheridan College’s Animal Care program. Among a broad range of topics, this certification offered Marilyn an introduction into the science of how animals learn, as well as hands-on experience working with a diverse range of species. Upon graduation Sheridan College awarded Marilyn with the Dr. G.R. Cormack Award for academic achievement and she graduated with honorary recognition. Today Marilyn is an active member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI), and founder of One Leg Up Canine Company. Marilyn continues to develop and stay current with her knowledge of positive dog training through active participation in canine behaviour seminars and regular continuing education opportunities.

Stephanie Kaye, BA, MSc, CPDT-KA

Stephanie has been dedicated to dogs for a majority of her life. After exploring an interest in animals, in particular dog training and ethology, throughout adolescence and her adult years, Stephanie earned her MSc in Animal Behaviour from the University of Guelph in 2019. In addition to her education in companion animal psychology and welfare, Stephanie has two years of experience working as a veterinary technician in a range of clinical settings. Stephanie continues to expand her companion dog training skills through continuing education courses and conferences, including obtaining her CPDT-KA certification in 2023.



Jessica Weldon, IAABC-ADT

PRIVATE PROGRAM & LIFE SKILLS TRAINER

After graduating from Western University with a degree in psychology, Jess began a career in behaviour modification, spending three years working in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis. She now specifically works with dogs, borrowing humane, ethical techniques from the field of behaviour science and applying them to dog training. Currently, Jess is certified through the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consulting as an Accredited Dog Trainer, and is also certified through Julie Naismith’s Separation Anxiety Pro Trainer Program. Jess remains dedicated to continuing education and regularly participates in seminars, workshops, and shadowing opportunities to stay up to date with her education.

Camille Gillis, IAABC-ADT

PUPPY PROGRAM & LIFE SKILLS TRAINER

Camille is a certified professional dog trainer (IAABC-ADT) who has a background in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph. Her goal is to compassionately help humans and their dogs live fulfilling lives along side one another. Her education prioritizes safe, ethical, and effective services to clients, with a welfare based approach.
