Cooperative Care Workshop Series: A 3-Week Hands-On Program

Presented in partnership with Calm Canines

Transform grooming and vet visits from a stressful struggle into a calm, cooperative team effort.

In this specialized, 3-session workshop series, One Leg Up Canine Company and Calm Canines join forces to teach your dog real confidence and voluntary participation in their daily handling and medical care.

Who Is This Program For?

  • Guardians whose dogs get restless, anxious, or fearful during nail trims, medical treatments (like eye or ear drops), tooth brushing, grooming, or vet visits (examinations, vaccines, blood draws).
  • Guardians with puppies or adult dogs looking to build a positive foundation with handling before fear develops.

What You & Your Dog Will Learn

  • Real-World Start Button Skills: Clear communication cues that allow your dog to voluntarily say "yes" or ask for a pause during handling
  • Stress-Free Tool Desensitization: Positive, step-by-step introduction to tools including nail clippers, nail grinders, ear and eye medications, toothbrushes, brushes, and clippers.
  • Strategies for Fear-Free Vet & Grooming Visits: Practical skills for restraint-free physical examinations, vaccinations, and blood draws.
  • Confidence & Skill-Building Games: Engaging exercises designed to make mutual communication and routine husbandry fun for both of you.
  • Communication tools that support a lifetime of safe, cooperative, and healthy handling.
